ORIA OGGI - Newsletter February 2025

✨ New Goals for Oria Toscana

February has been a crucial month in the evolution of our project. From work in the vineyard to upcoming enological experiences, every step brings us closer to the vision of Oria Toscana: a premier wine destination where tradition and innovation come together. In this edition of our newsletter, we share the latest updates on the "Cloni" vineyard, pruning in the "Prólogo" vineyard, new Tuscan regulations allowing us to advance more rapidly in planting, and the tasting of Prólogo 2024, sampled directly from the foudre by our partners. Finally, a summary of upcoming exclusive experiences for our community. 🍇🍷

🍇 PRUNING IN THE PRÓLOGO VINEYARD

February marks a crucial moment in the Prólogo vineyard, where we carried out winter pruning. This process not only defines the vine’s structure but is also essential to ensuring a balanced and high-quality harvest.

As our winemaker Roberto Cipresso explains: "Every cut is a decision that shapes the character of the wine from its origin. At Oria Toscana, we combine scientific precision with tradition to optimize the potential of each vine."

Additionally, we continue to advance with sustainable viticulture practices, ensuring that our vineyard thrives in harmony with nature. 🌱

🍷 A UNIQUE TASTING: ORIA PRÓLOGO 2024 DIRECTLY FROM THE FOUDRE

After completing pruning in the Prólogo vineyard, we hosted an exclusive sensory experience: the first tasting of the future Oria Prólogo 2024, directly from the foudre where it is aging.

In this large oak vessel, 5,000 liters of wine are slowly evolving, absorbing nuances and structure that will define its final identity. Attendees had the privilege of tasting it in its purest form, discovering its aromatic potential, vibrant freshness, and the first hints of complexity that will shape its enological profile.

A moment that encapsulates the essence of Oria Toscana: respect for tradition, connection with nature, and a constant pursuit of excellence in every glass.

🌱 THE “CLONI” VINEYARD AT ORIA TOSCANA: PROGRESS ON THE 2025 PLANTING PLAN

Following our vision of enological excellence, at Oria Toscana, we are planning the implementation of a new vineyard in a strategic area of our estate. According to the analysis conducted by agronomist Marco Pierucci, the first phase of this project will cover approximately 2 hectares, outlined based on the terrain’s geography and key reference points, such as the two large cypress trees.

📌 Key details of the new vineyard:Surface area: 2.35 hectares. • Planting density: 7,812 plants per hectare. • Total estimated plants: 15,624. • Clonal selection: The integration of 19 distinct clones is planned, optimizing genetic diversity and vineyard balance.

📍 Next steps: 🔹 Finalizing the vineyard boundaries and selecting the definitive clones for planting. 🔹 Coordinating logistics for acquiring plant material. 🔹 Implementing the vineyard with sustainability criteria, ensuring its integration with Oria Toscana’s natural ecosystem.

This project represents a key milestone in the development of our vineyard, reinforcing our commitment to producing unique, expressive wines that embody the essence of Tuscany.

🍷 We will continue to share updates on this exciting process in our upcoming editions.

🌿 ROOTSTOCK PLANTING: NEW REGULATIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Alongside vineyard expansion, our team has received a key update from the Tuscany Region regarding the planting of rootstocks not grafted with Vitis vinifera. According to agronomist Marco Pierucci, these rootstocks are not subject to the planting restrictions that apply to productive vineyards, opening up the opportunity to proceed without prior authorization.

📌 Key points: ✅ Planting is unrestricted, but authorizations must be managed when field grafting takes place. ✅ Authorizations for conversion into productive vineyards can be obtained through: • Application to the Tuscany Region.Purchase of planting rights through the acquisition or leasing of vineyards undergoing restructuring. ✅ The new OCM Vigneti program has been published, offering grants for planting productive vineyards. Applications must be submitted within 60 days, and supplier invoices will only be eligible if issued after the grant’s approval.

This opportunity allows for greater flexibility in vineyard expansion, ensuring an efficient transition to regulated and sustainable production. 🌱
